Pencil Song 01:43
Pencil song I found a pencil on the street the other day. Sharp in both ends. What does that say? It says: If you write your life, it writes right back at you and it sure aint polite. I don’t know what you’re thinking of, but sure as hell you aint thinking of me And I don’t know what this song is for, but I wish it could be better. And then you could decipher it, like it was a secret code. Between the two of us. And you'd lie sleepless, just like me, just like me. Meanwhile I’m surfing on the world wide web. On the waves of self-promotion. And the dust that spills from my fingers. Forms an Atlantic ocean. And I peddle my thoughts in a software store I count backwards from ten as you walk out the door. Rattle the coins in my pocket Singin uh ah duh a diddle duh But I wish you could turn around. It’s so goddamn cold here. I wish you could stick around . Like the end of the atmosphere. You can float, but it’s impossible to swim.

The Frontier 02:51
If you look at your shoes it’s hard to walk straight, if you sit down to play the blues you end up feeling okay, if you are looking for shelter you walk by open doors. And the words you say they stick to your brain, like sickness that won’t go away, like a blanket to cover your eyes. He takes one last breath and empties his lungs, and longs for the grass down where he belongs, before he came the frontier. The thief, the thief, he stole a future, with a phosphorous shell; I guess he had his reasons. She had none to stay home. It ain’t really true if it don’t happen to you. You’ve got blood on your lips and on your tongue too. You’ve eaten all the cake and there’s no one left to sue. It’s like the house rests heavy on the ground. That’s how it feels. On a poor man’s grave yard. Just like in the films. You better run.

Too big to fail Well you're too big to fail and its too late to come up with excuses and you've been down on your knees but you've sworn you won't crawl You've turned the back on yourself and all those who believe in you. Now you're up and you're standing, but that's all. You know as long as he breathes every man has one companion that lurks in the shadows of the stage lights and he envies the light and all those who reside in it but he knows that his time is bound to come There are those who swim for the shore and never look back There are those who dive for shipwrecks of the past You came here by train but the retreat you will have to do walking through pastures of shame you'll march in wooden boots And you onto forgetting, and into erasing But memories are air, like the letters on a tombstone

about

Helen and The Prettyboy Pete Band Trondheim, Norway

Unique vocals, strange lyrics, folksy instrumentation and sometimes catchy refrains. Some people call it postmodern indiepopcountry, but they're just too damn preoccupied with labels.

Representing Trondheim Norway.
